And I'm here to make a living by capturing others' moments.

I don’t know about you, but I am extremely lucky when it comes to the mom department. My mom and I have been best friends since day one (seriously though). I can probably count the times we’ve fought on two hands. She is my biggest fan, my role model, my hero, my everything! And I coaxed her to get in front of the camera to take some pictures with me. (It took a little convincing, but she realized that she wanted pictures with her baby.)
So, maybe you have a similar story. Maybe you don’t! But one thing’s for sure: moms love pictures of their kids.
…I bet you see where this is going.
For mothers day, give your mom pictures of you and your siblings! Or, be selfish and just give her pictures of you. That’s up to you, really.
Or, if you would prefer to have pictures of you AND your mom, tell her that you booked the two of you a session with me for the near future.
Pictures + moms = always a good idea. Always. Contact me, and we can schedule a shoot to get some pictures that your mom will love!
This one is my favorite.
Nothing beats happy clients! :D
Lisa and Stephen….they are so fun. And funny. And adorable together.
So they were referred to me by Becca and Jessie - Stephen is Jessie’s brother! Lisa and I emailed back and forth about engagement pictures, and they told me that we clicked really well so I am scheduled to photograph their wedding, too. I absolutely can’t wait!
They’re getting married in a venue that sits over a koi pond, and they are total nature lovers, so going to the San Diego Botanical Gardens was appropriate. I had never been, but it’s a really cute place.

I had such a fun time with them. Definitely looking forward to their big day!

When Amanda contacted me for senior portraits, she told me she wanted pictures that were super original. Instantly, I started thinking of interesting places around town. I threw out the idea of shooting around Downtown and gave her an address - down by Petco Park. Turns out that she is a softball player and has been playing for years! I was so excited - I love when things work out like that.
So we walked around the area (with her adorable mom) and took some pictures that I absolutely love!

Such a fun day. I’m constantly reminded why I love my job…it’s the best!

Everyone knows that weddings are expensive! By far the most expensive day of your life. Many people struggle to find a balance in their budget, and surprisingly enough, a lot of people sacrifice their photo-needs.
I can’t speak for everyone else, because I am only me! But I know that I have worked with every tight budget there is. (Actually, I turned down a client once because they only had $50 budgeted for their photographer. And that is a lot of work for $50.)
So here’s what I suggest to those couples who are tight on funds and about to sit down with their photographer:
I hope this helps a few people out there! I actually have a meeting with a client tomorrow, so I have meetings on the brain. I need to print out my price sheets and prep my pens for some scribbles and more list-making. …and I need to pick my outfit - impressions are important! (And any excuse to plan an outfit is fine by me!)

@cortniedee is amazing. (Taken with instagram)
It’s hard to take bad pictures of beautiful people! ♥
Ollinka and Ollintzin are gorgeous. I am lucky enough to dance with these ladies (Ollinka actually teaches one class that I attend!) and we have been talking about doing a photoshoot for awhile. They had never done something like this before, so at first it was all giggles, but they warmed up really quickly. The girls had some fans (beach goers, beach bums) who constantly told them how perfect they were — I just had to make sure they were safe!

They love their pictures, so I am sure you’ll see some more of them soon.

Is she just now noticing this?
No, no, of course not. But I have been focusing my energy in so many outlets that this blog was on my mental backburner.
This year, I am doing another daily project. I did this a few years ago, and failed year and year after that, but here I am again to give it another go. So far, its’ been lazy pictures…but at least that’s documentation!
In the fifteen days that have passed this month, not a whole lot of photo-ness has happened. I’ve had only one photoshoot so far, but two next weekend…such a slow month. I’m okay with that, because my schedule is about to get hectic with school and dance (just got myself a work-study program at an amazing studio). And with people needing senior portraits? I might as well say goodbye to my (already pretty non-existant) social life.
On the up-and-up, one of my favorite teachers from high school invited me to be a guest speaker in his photo class. I am so thrilled and honored…it’s so exciting! Can’t wait for that to happen.
So, I want to blog more - hopefully that will happen. If you have any questions/requests/…anything you want, let me know!

Sigh. These two are so in love…you just can’t deny it! I went to their apartment to shoot pictures of them to send out in Christmas cards, and I love how they came out. It was a plus that they happen to live in my absolute dream apartment complex! Any day that I get to do my job AND look at gorgeous design is a wonderful day.

Monica is a bright, talented individual with a big heart and big goals to match. Together (her mom, too!) we walked around Balboa and got some really excellent shots that she and I both feel capture her spirit really well. She was so ecstatic about the photos, and I couldn’t be happier!

People who follow my personal tumblr have already seen these, but I thought I’d share with the rest of you! I ordered Tarte’s Tarte for True Blood eyeshadow palette…I’m hooked. (Much like I am on the actual show!) I decided to vamp up and make some self-portrait art once it came in the mail, just couldn’t resist!

This shoot was absolutely epic. We went to Jasmine’s, raided her closet — sort of. I told Jasmine vibes I wanted, and she pieced together these flawless outfits, all from pieces of her own wardrobe. I was in charge of makeup, and Jasmine tackled the hair. Sarah is a gorgeous model, so our job was pretty easy. Shoots like this are so different than my typical paid photoshoot, and it is always fun to test my own boundaries.

Taylor is a great friend of mine who happens to be a gorgeous pageant girl. She has a pretty great track record, and she went out for one of the big California pageants and placed in the top ten out of one hundred and fifty girls! I am so proud. This girl is very obviously photogenic, but I can say she’s beautiful down to her core.

These two girls are best friends, and unfortunately one’s moving out of state. They wanted some pictures before Lizzie left, so we all got together in Balboa and basically played dress-up. They girls went with a modern-vintage theme, which always photographs well.
